Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with Database Design, Maintenance and Query Optimization for Live Projects.
- Performance Tuning and Regular Maintenance of Databases.
- Maintain SQL and NoSQL Databases (document driven, key-value, or graph).
- Debug and analyze SQL Queries for optimizing Database Performance using tools such as EXPLAIN/EXPLAIN ANALYZE
- Create and maintain data pipelines from various sources (e.g., databases, APIs, files) using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Perform data transformation and ensure data quality through data cleaning, validation, transformation and normalization processes
- Use SQL and other data querying languages to extract insights from data.
- Data Visualization using the extracted insights in data visualization platforms such as Superset, Metabase, Power BI
Job Structure
- Reports To: Senior Management
- Work Schedule: 40hrs/week, Monday-Friday
- Compensation: Salary and Incentives, Negotiable
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of various data engineering technologies such as S3, Airflow, Airbyte, Kafka, dbt, Snowflake, Informatica Cloud, AWS Glue etc
- Experience with shell scripting and a programming language, preferably python
- Good Understanding of SQL.
- Good understanding of data warehousing and data modeling concepts.
- Database design and development using MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other databases.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written & verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership skills
- Constant drive for learning and improving yourself.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Knowledge of Big Data Analytics will be preferred
- Experience with BI Visualization tools, such as Tableau, Jasper Report, and Power BI will be preferred
- At least 2+ years of experience working in live projects
